Even with a
balanced diet, the depletion of our soils has made it difficult to get all the
vitamins and minerals that our bodies need just from our food. Balance in your body’s systems is a key
component to how your body adapts to stress and heals. The Calcium/Magnesium
& Vitamin tincture support the balance of nutrients that your
body needs to facilitate healing and maintain a strong balanced system that,
over time, is resistant to disease and illness.
The
combination of Wild-Crafted Horsetail, Watercress, Stinging Nettle and Purslane
has been formulated to provide your body with an easily assimilated balance of
vitamins and minerals. Because these
plants have been Wild Harvested, they are growing where they do naturally in
nutrient rich soils without being exposed to pesticides or herbicides. The whole plant is then tinctured fresh so that all the constituents are present including the trace
minerals that our bodies need to recognize and absorb nutrients.
Our bodies
have evolved for centuries using whole plants as medicine, only in the last
hundred years have we been standardizing the plants by removing the components
that modern scientists believe to be the “active constituents” and have
definite pharmacological activity in the body.
The practice of a standardized herbal extract is to guarantee the
consumer that one or more of the components are present in a specific amount,
usually expressed as a percentage. Consequently,
standardization may concentrate one constituent at the expense of other
potentially important ones, while changing the natural balance of the herb’s
components. Generations of healers have
learned, through empirical observation, the medicinal properties of the whole
herbs and have a long track record validating their safety and efficacy.
Below are
just a few of the medicinal qualities of the plants that are used in the
Calcium/Magnesium/Vitamin tincture and capsules.
Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense):
Horsetail builds
strong bones, hair, teeth and fingernails through silicon (silica). Bone growth
involves the process of adding calcium for hardness, plus increasing collagen.
Silicon is essential for both of these processes. Silicon works by chemically
binding the structures of surface tissues and those that connect the bones. (Corletto F. 1999)
Watercress (Nastrtium officianalis):
Watercress
is a super food. It is bursting with Vitamins A, C and K. It contains more
calcium than milk and more iron than spinach. Watercress is a natural
anti-oxidant that aids in blocking free radicals from causing damage to healthy
cells thus slowing the aging process and preventing the development of disease.
It is also alkaline which is helpful in keeping your blood from becoming acidic
which can promote abnormal cell growth.
Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica):
Nettle leaf
also contains high levels of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, and
beta-carotene and high amounts of the vitamins A, C, D, and B complex.
Purslane (Portulaca oleracea):
Purslane
also has vitamins A, C and E and the minerals calcium and potassium salts,
phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, folate, lithium, silicone, copper; high
levels of potassium and iron, plus glutathione and Omega 3 fatty acids. It is also a good source of Co-enzyme Q10.
